Contribution ...

to the American Topical Association Ships on Stamps study unit ... Dry-docks & Shipyards!

to that end I present the first stamp and cover in my collection

Some information first:
A dry-dock (also commonly dry dock) is a narrow basin or vessel that can be flooded to allow a load to be floated in, then drained to allow that load to come to rest on a dry platform. Dry-docks are used for the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships, boats, and other watercraft.

The Curacao Dry-dock was opened, as best as I can tell, in 1971 by the Dutch Government and the Dutch petroleum industry. This stamp and cover commemorate the opening.
